Technology Business Incubator
WONDERFUL WORLD OF MOBILE. Be part of something big. Go beyond what is offered. Challenge the equation. Let your newest mobile application ideas come alive through this latest mobile applications competition in the Philippines. AyalaTBI and its partner organizations hope to discover pioneering technologies in entertainment, fun and games; enterprise and productivity solutions, and cause-oriented field.
Today, this “Big Apps Competition” was launched at the Conference Room of UP-Ayalaland TECHNOHUB in Quezon City. I was so delighted to see my idols Bill Luz & Dicky Gonzalez, my student Anna Pasetes, and all those many tech people interested in making a pitch for this mobile applications contest.
We first heard from the resource persons, who talked about: the sponsorship of this competition by Ayala Foundation and the TBI (Bill Luz), the contest mechanics (Dicky Gonzalez), and other wonderful speakers!

About the UP-Ayala Technology Business Incubator (TBI):
Technology – the branch of knowledge that deals with the creation and use of technical means and their interrelation with life, society, and the environment, drawing upon such subjects as industrial arts, engineering, applied science, and pure science.
Business – a building or site where commercial work is carried on, as a factory, store, or office; place of work; profit-seeking enterprise or concern.
Incubator – an apparatus in which eggs are hatched artificially; an enclosed apparatus in which prematurely born infants are kept in controlled conditions, as of temperature, for protection and care.
Put them together and what have you got? A TBI is where you incubate technology businesses! (oops, I’m violating an important rule on definitions: you don’t repeat the term in the definition). So, a TBI is a place or venue where tech startups are “cared for” and “nursed” until they are able to take off on their own.
At the UP-Ayala TBI along C.P. Garcia, the following businesses are present:
Astra Philippines, Inc.
JAVA Education and Development Initiative
MICOM Technologies Corporation
Optiserve Technologies, Inc.
Shared Asia-Pacific Project of the Center for Economic Policy and Research
Systema Computer Solutions Corporation
Tekno Logika Pilipinas Inc.
Manila Water Total Solutions Corporation
Global Trade Infosys Services, Inc.
I usually take my I.T. students on a tour of the TBI. If interested, contact:
