Cherrybrook Kindergarten – Singapore

“Excellence in the service of truth and virtue”

The mission of Cherrybrook is to help parents:

  • form their children to become mature, virtuous, competent, eager to serve others and, be able to act with a great sense of freedom and responsibility and;
  • develop their competency as primary educators by offering Continuing Education Programs.

Cherrybrook was founded precisely to serve parents in this role as primary educators; hence, it makes perfect sense that parents hold first place at Cherrybrook. Parents delegate never fully abdicating – their task in part to teachers, but they will always be the most important agents in their child’s education.

Cherrybrook is run by PAFED:

PAFED (PArents For EDucation) was conceptualized in 1998 and incorporated in the year 2000. It is a personal initiative of parents and educators to operate schools and other educational projects which assist parents in their task as primary educators of their children.

PAFED founded Cherrybrook Kindergarten, its first project, in 2001 which enrolls children from 2 ½ years old to 6 years old.

The founders of PAFED have introduced into Singapore a personalized system of education implemented in all schools sharing PAFED’s philosophy and mission throughout the world.

This system of education was developed in Europe in the 1950s when parents were encouraged by Saint Josemaría Escrivá, Founder of Opus Dei, to exercise greater responsibility in the education of their children. PAFED maintains professional contact with similarly-run schools.

PAFED, fulfilling its commitment to help parents be better educators, also organizes courses in effective parenting through Family Enrichment Society.
